A Category 5 Super Typhoon Just Made a Direct Hit on US Soil, and It Was Already Living in Tents
Super Typhoon Bavi, a Category 5 monster with 175 mph winds and gusts over 200 mph, passed directly over the US island of Rota and battered Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands. The catch: the territory was still recovering from April’s typhoon, with 1,300 families living in tents.
