A federal judge extended the order blocking Paramount Skydance’s roughly $110 billion takeover of Warner Bros. Discovery by 14 days, pushing the earliest close to mid-August. It came one day after European regulators cleared the deal. Every day past September 30 costs Paramount close to $7 million.
Atoms, the industrial AI and robotics company Travis Kalanick built on top of CloudKitchens, raised $1.7 billion in equity led by Andreessen Horowitz. Ben Horowitz joins the board. The investor list includes Uber, the company that forced Kalanick out as chief executive in 2017.
Alphabet reported $119.8 billion in quarterly revenue, Google Cloud growth of 82 percent, and a cloud backlog of $514 billion. Then it raised 2026 capital spending guidance to as much as $205 billion, free cash flow turned negative, and the stock sold off. The best cloud quarter anyone has posted was not enough.

New tariffs of 10 to 12.5 percent took effect at 12:01 a.m. on July 24, covering 60 trading partners and about 99 percent of US imports by value. The stated justification is that those countries fail to enforce bans on goods made with forced labor. The timing, one minute after an expiring tariff lapsed, tells a different story.
